Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support to pharmacists and ensures smooth pharmacy operations, contributing to excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication management, and patient interaction, with prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings preferred. Duties
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and organizing supplies
- Prepare prescription labels and package medications for patient pickup or delivery
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain accurate records of medication transactions and patient information
- Support medication administration processes as needed, including documentation and compliance with safety protocols
- Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 4+ years of pharmacy experience and Fillware software
- Fluent in English language
- Knowledge of pharmacy technician procedures and medical terminology
- Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and patient care standards
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and data entry
- Certification or training as a pharmacy technician is a plus but not required
