Plumbing Instructor
Must be a Journeyman in the trade of instruction
· Christmas Break:
· 2 Full weeks paid holidays @ 36.25 hours/week
· March Break:
· 1 Full week paid holidays @ 36.25 hours
Vacation Pay : 4% included in pay bi-weekly
· Employee Health, Dental Benefits: @ 50% paid by employer, if employee accepts benefits they are deducted bi-weekly to cover from September - August each year.
· Sick Days: 3 paid sick days with doctor’s note.
Duties:
- Involved helping students find or getting practical placements via contacting industry in person.
- Student Evaluation days (checkups) within the Fredericton and surrounding area, Instructors will only be compensated by full wages for that day. Checkups will be done every Wednesday Morning. Completion of Placement Record book weekly to be handed in.
- Staff meetings will be held every Wednesday afternoon @ 2pm-4pm
- Involvement of choosing of textbooks and materials for program prior to classes.
- Tutoring of students that need some extra help.
- Developing and marking of tests and assignments and exams.
- Developing material for review weeks.
- Instructional hours are from 8:30-4:00, instructors are expected to be at college by 8:15 a.m. with 1 hour lunch break, see Instructor Manuals for breaks.
- Managing classrooms: ensuring proper language, privacy, course objectives are covered, visual aids, power points and lectures related to material, multiple choice testing, cleanliness of classrooms (vacuuming, garbage, desks are neat and tidy daily)
- Developing NEW Industry Contacts for placements.
- Taking attendance daily and keying marks
- Preparing lectures for classes daily and tests and assignments.
