Position Summary
The Maintenance Renovation / Projects Person is responsible for completing renovation projects, repairs, preventative maintenance, and general construction-related duties throughout the hotel property. This position supports the appearance, functionality, and safety of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces while ensuring work is completed efficiently and professionally.
This role requires a hands-on individual with experience in construction, maintenance, and renovation work. Duties may vary daily and are not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform demolition and renovation work in guest rooms, hallways, and common areas
· Install, repair, and replace various types of flooring including vinyl plank, laminate, carpet tile, and ceramic tile
· Complete drywall installation, taping, mudding, sanding, and repairs
· Perform interior and exterior painting and finishing work
· Assist with framing, trim work, finishing carpentry, and minor construction projects
· Complete minor plumbing repairs including faucets, toilets, sinks, drains, and related fixtures
· Complete minor electrical repairs including replacing switches, plugs, light fixtures, bulbs, and troubleshooting minor issues
· Assemble, install, and repair hotel furniture, fixtures, and equipment
· Schedule and coordinate renovation and repair projects with contractors and suppliers
· Work alongside contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards
· Maintain clean and organized workspaces during and after projects
· Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations
· Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and renovation equipment safely
· Remove debris and maintain clean, organized work areas during and after projects
· Assist with room renovations, preventative maintenance projects, and capital improvement projects
· Inspect completed work to ensure hotel quality standards are met
· Respond to maintenance requests as required
· Work independently or with other maintenance staff and contractors as required
· Perform additional duties assigned by management
Qualifications
· Experience in building maintenance, renovations, construction, or related trades preferred
· Knowledge of drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical work
· Ability to safely use hand and power tools
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Good organizational and time management skills
· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
· WHMIS or safety training considered an asset
· Valid driver’s license considered an asset
Working Conditions
· Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and standing
· Exposure to dust, noise, construction materials, and cleaning chemicals
· Work may include evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required
· Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions

- Commercial painting: 1 year (preferred)
- Commercial construction: 1 year (preferred)

- Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's License (required)
