The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is accepting applications for several contract positions in support of the FSIN Election taking place in October 2026. Successful candidates must be available for approximately seven days between September 1 and October 31, 2026.

ELECTORAL OFFICER AND DEPUTY ELECTORAL OFFICER
The Electoral Officer and Deputy Electoral Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the provisions of the FSIN Election Act are properly and consistently implemented.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with First Nations and/or First Nations organizations;
- Experience conducting or supporting elections;
- Ability to chair meetings as required;
- Membership in a First Nation signatory to the FSIN Convention; and
- Experience in conflict mediation or resolution.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills;
LEGAL COUNSEL
Legal Counsel will provide legal advice to the Electoral Officers and Credentials Committee regarding procedural, legislative, or other election-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Practising lawyer in good standing with the Law Society, with a minimum of five (5) years called to the Bar;
- Current experience working directly with First Nation governments, Bands, or organizations;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, governance structures, and election processes;
- Strong research, analytical, project-management, and facilitation skills; and
- Experience in conflict resolution.

COMMISSIONERS – TWO POSITIONS
Commissioners will receive and administer affidavits, oaths, and affirmations as required and may assist with the Electoral Officers during the election process.
Qualifications:
- Current experience working with First Nation Bands and/or First Nation organizations;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality; and
- Ability to support the Electoral Officers as required.
