Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction while leading a team of cleaning staff. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a solid background in custodial services and facilities maintenance. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to quality standards
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of equipment including hand tools, power tools, and cleaning supplies
- Conduct inspections of work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members based on workload and priorities
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, including custodial tools and facilities maintenance items
- Perform routine maintenance tasks or coordinate repairs using appropriate tools to maintain facility standards
- Address guest or client inquiries promptly, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Enforce safety protocols related to heavy lifting, use of power tools, and proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, supplies used, and team performance metrics
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, custodial services, or facilities maintenance with supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, hand tools, power tools, and custodial equipment
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting using hand tools or power tools
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and interact with clients or guests
- Demonstrated ability in time management to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with cleaning duties
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Prior experience supervising staff in a hospitality or commercial setting is advantageous
