The Haisla Nation is the band government of the Haisla people. The Haisla, meaning “dwellers downriver”, have occupied their traditional territory since time immemorial. They believe in building a strong and thriving community with healthy and happy members and a sustained and prosperous environment. With about 1962+ people, approximately 532 are living in Kitamaat Village. For thousands of years, they have lived off the land and waters of their traditional territory and remains the focus of all they do.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Governance + Administrative Services, the Manager, Administration (Manager) is responsible for the overall management of programs and services within the Administration department of the Haisla Nation. This includes managing day-to-day activities in the areas of support and coordination for the administration staff.
Aligned with the Haisla Nation’s mission, the Manager’s key responsibilities include supporting strategic leadership and oversight across the Administration portfolio, ensuring goals, priorities and operational plans are effectively executed. This role oversees policy development, governance processes, records management, and program evaluation while ensuring accurate and timely reporting. The Manager leads program operations, ensures efficient services delivery, monitors performance, has strong fiscal management, and ensures compliance with applicable policies and legislation. The Manager provides leadership, management, and supervision to the Clerk to Council, Executive Assistants, Front Desk Receptionist, and Membership Clerks.
This is an incredible opportunity for a dynamic and organized professional who is passionate about strategic leadership and fostering meaningful organizational growth within a values-driven environment. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field, with three (3) to five (5) years of experience, demonstrating strong leadership in program and staff management. They will have solid office administration knowledge, budgeting and reporting skills, and the ability to develop goals and implement operational plans. Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication abilities are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience working with a band government or Indigenous organization, and familiarity with change management and organizational development are considered assets. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
The anticipated salary for this role is between $73,000-$85,000.
