We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Licensed Excavator Operator to join our operations team. The successful candidate will operate hydraulic excavators to sort, load, move, and process waste, recyclable materials, and construction debris in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently.
- Load trailers, roll-off bins, and dump trucks.
- Perform excavation, demolition, grading, sorting, and material handling.
- Complete daily inspections, maintenance, and equipment logs.
- Report equipment issues and follow site plans and supervisor instructions.
Qualifications
- Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent.
- 2+ years of excavator operating experience.
- Experience in construction, demolition, recycling, excavation, or waste management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safe equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Ability to read work orders and site plans.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Class G licence required; DZ licence and additional certifications (Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid) are assets.
Working Conditions
- Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather and site conditions.
- Ability to operate equipment for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- PPE required at all times.
Schedule
- Sunday to Friday
- 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM start
- Shift ends approximately 8:00 AM
- Full-time hours with overtime opportunities
