Who You Are:
GFX Solutions is currently searching for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance team in Oakville, Ontario.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all preventive maintenance is carried out. You will promote safe working practices in a safe and organized environment. This includes maintaining job tracking systems, monitoring machines and building maintenance issues, and ensure work activities are being performed to meet all safety and quality standards.
You have excellent communication and organizational skills, possess a positive health and safety attitude and are passionate about continuous improvement.
What You Can Expect from the Role:
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor are as follows:
- Conduct preventive maintenance in a timely manner, documenting work performed
- Ensure that all machine & facility maintenance issues are coordinated and given prompt attention, troubleshooting to determine the cause of the breakdown, documenting repairs in the job tracking system.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and parts within the inventory system, ensuring materials are accurately allocated and tracked against work orders.
- Maintain job tracking system for all work performed within the department, using data to analyze Maintenance department costs and make cost-savings recommendations to management as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the O.H.S.A., applicable Regulations, and internal safe operating principles.
- Comply with the provisions of the O.H.S.A. and Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees.
- Comply with any orders and requirements from inspectors, directors, and other agents of the M.O.L.
- Promote and support workplace Health & Safety initiatives
- Inform employees of actual and potential workplace hazards and provide the information, instruction, and competent supervision required to protect their health and safety.
- Be visible, assume leadership, and assist in developing and promoting an effective Health & Safety culture.
- Participate in continuous Health & Safety training.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications and Skills Do You Possess?
Must possess the following skills and certifications:
- Minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) certification, Industrial Maintenance Technician diploma/certificate, or equivalent mechanical maintenance education and experience.
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence
- Minimum of 3 years experience performing machine maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with IATF 16949/ISO14001 requirements especially as it relates to machine maintenance and Significant Environmental Aspects including:
o Contaminated Air Emissions from Welding
o Contaminated Air Emissions from Heater
o Contaminated Refrig. Release from Compressors or HVAC
o Contamination of City of Windsor Domestic Water System.
- Blueprint reading knowledge.
- Strong mechanical background and have a general understanding of the function and operation of fabricating equipment.
- Team oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Computer skills considered an asset
- Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
