Exciting opportunity to join a brand new concept by JJ Bean Coffee Roasters - NEATE DONUTS by JJ Bean Coffee Roasters located in downtown Vancouver.
We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Overnight Donut Production Assistant Manager to help lead our donut production team and support the daily operations of a busy bakery environment. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and confident leading a team while maintaining high standards for product quality and workplace efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of bakery team members
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to staff to encourage accountability, teamwork, and growth
- Work alongside the team on the floor each day, leading by example and actively participating in production
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stock organization
- Maintain product quality standards and ensure consistency across all fried goods
- Lead staff meetings and communicate operational updates, priorities, and expectations
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
- Administrative duties including scheduling, payroll, and operational record keeping
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in a bakery, café, or food production environment is an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable leading by example and supporting a collaborative team culture
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and consistency
- Have completed a Baking and Pastry program
- Are familiar with commercial bakery equipment
- Proficient in making dough and various fillings (pastry cream, fruit fillings, etc)
- Enjoy a busy, physically active work environment
- Have a positive, solutions oriented attitude
- Can communicate effectively in the English language
- Love to learn new things and are open to feedback
- Are able to stand for 8 hours per day
- Are able to lift up to 25kg
- Available to work weekends.
- Available to cover day shifts 6 am - 2 pm as needed.
