Banana Art Lab is one of Metro Vancouver's fastest-growing DIY art studios, offering unique hands-on creative experiences including tufting, decoden, fluid bears, silver ring making, candles, beaded crafts, keyboard fidgets, and more.
We're looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and creative team members to join us as we expand to our new Vancouver location while continuing to grow our Richmond studio.

What You'll Do
As a Banana Art Lab Studio Assistant, you'll help create memorable experiences for every guest that walks through our doors.
Workshop Instruction & Guest Experience
- Welcome guests and create a fun, friendly atmosphere
- Teach and guide guests through our DIY workshops, including tufting, decoden, fluid bears, silver rings, candles, beaded crafts, keyboard fidgets, iron patches, and more
- Demonstrate projects step-by-step while ensuring guests feel confident and supported
- Troubleshoot projects and encourage guests throughout their creative experience
- Maintain a safe workshop environment
Birthday Parties & Private Events
- Help host birthday parties, team building events, school groups, and private bookings
- Set up and reset event spaces
- Ensure every guest has an amazing experience from start to finish
Studio Operations
- Keep workshop stations clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Prepare materials before workshops
- Restock supplies and notify management when inventory is running low
- Assist with opening and closing duties
Customer Service
- Answer guest questions about workshops and bookings
- Assist guests with workshop selection and project upgrades
- Process payments and bookings
- Provide exceptional customer service at every interaction
Social Media (Bonus!)
If you're interested, you'll have opportunities to:
- Take photos and videos of guest projects
- Capture fun moments for Instagram and TikTok
- Help create engaging social media content
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Friendly, outgoing, and enjoys talking with people
- Patient and encouraging when teaching beginners
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A team player who enjoys helping others
- Excited to learn new DIY crafts and creative skills
Previous experience in tufting or our workshops is not required — we'll teach you everything you need to know!
Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, education, camps, recreation, crafts or event hosting is considered an asset.
Availability
We're hiring both Part-Time and Full-Time team members.
Applicants should be available to work a combination of:
Weekend availability is strongly preferred, as this is our busiest time for workshops and private events.
Training
Successful applicants will begin paid training prior to our opening.
Training includes:
- Workshop instruction
- Safety procedures
- Customer service
- Studio operations
- Event hosting
- Product knowledge
No previous experience is necessary—we provide comprehensive training.
