About the Position
Progressive Pathways Behaviour & Disability Services Association (PPBDS) is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and energetic Child Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for multiple families in the Wetaskiwin area.
This position focuses on helping the client build independence, social skills, emotional regulation, community participation, and daily living skills while working closely with the family and support team.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Assist with community participation and recreational activities.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour development.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and recommendations.
- Assist with transitions, routines, and daily activities.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Build positive relationships with the child and family.
- Complete daily documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and caregivers.
- Follow all PPBDS policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, behavioural challenges, or related support needs.
- Strong understanding of positive behaviour support and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while following direction from supervisors.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Reliable vehicle available for daily travel to Wetaskiwin.
- Valid vehicle insurance and registration.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Child Intervention Record Check.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Child and Youth Care Diploma.
- Disability Studies Diploma.
- Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related education.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), CPI, or equivalent training.
- Experience implementing behaviour support plans.
- Experience supporting children in home, school, or community settings.

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
