This position starts part-time, with strong potential to transition into a full-time role as the business continues to expand.
What You’ll Do
As a Full-Time Optometric Assistant / Eyecare Consultant, you’ll support both the clinical and retail side of the patient journey.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and creating a warm, professional first impression
- Supporting the Optometrist with pre-testing and patient preparation
- Booking and maintaining patient schedule efficiently
- Managing insurance claims, verify benefits, and collect patient payments
- Assisting patients with frame styling and lens selections based on prescription and lifestyle
- Supporting first-time contact lens wearers with confidence and care
- Explaining coverage, promotions, and product options clearly
- Ensuring smooth handovers between clinical and dispensing teams
- Delivering the memorable Specsavers care that patients know and trust
At Masonville, this position has a stronger optometric assistant focus while still supporting retail and dispensing.

No optical experience? No problem — we provide full training.
