Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Blown Film Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring blown film extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic film while maintaining production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate blown film extrusion machines according to production schedules.
- Monitor machine settings, temperatures, pressures, and extrusion processes.
- Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, and product changeovers as required.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Measure film thickness, width, and other quality standards.
- Load raw materials and monitor material usage throughout production.
- Troubleshoot minor machine and production issues to minimize downtime.
- Complete production reports and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and production team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating blown film extrusion equipment is required.
- Experience in plastic film manufacturing is considered a strong asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read production specifications and work instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends if required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with polyethylene (PE), LDPE, LLDPE, or HDPE blown film production.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and manufacturing best practices.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
