The Opportunity: Dairy/Frozen Clerk (Full-Time)
Job description:
- Stocking, rotating, and replenishing dairy and frozen product in store displays, including in bunkers, coolers and freezers
- Perform daily date checks to manage product freshness and reduce shrink
- Assist with inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels
- Set up and maintain pleasing displays by straightening and facing products
- Preparing received product for backroom cooler/freezer storage and placement in store displays
- Assist with organizing and managing stock levels in backroom freezers and coolers
- Continually build a strong product knowledge basis to assist customers
- Strive to exceed customer expectations by providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction, including personally guiding customers to products
- Assist and ensure proper product placement, visually appealing displays, and easy accessibility of product offerings for customers
- Verify and ensure that proper and accurate product signage and pricing are displayed
- Maintains a safe work environment according to provincial regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
The Qualifications:
- Prior Dairy & Frozen associate or other grocery retail stock experience is an asset
- Ability to be able to lift 23 kg (50 lb)
- Ability to handle standing, bending, reaching and scooping frequently, as well as pushing jacks and dollies, lifting and carrying heavy boxes
- Must be comfortable with working in cold environments (freezers and coolers)
- Good communication and customer service skills both in person and via the phone
- Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task and maintain focus
- Accepts and offers feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully
- Takes initiative to identify, report and resolve problems before they escalate
- Must have flexible full-time availability, including weekends
