Job Overview
We are seeking someone to hire a driven, resourceful individual who wants to be a key player in building something real. Your primary focus will be client acquisition and brand promotion — getting Ground Up Studios in front of the right people and converting interest into booked revenue across all our service streams.
You'll work closely with the founder and step into a role that evolves with the business. As revenue grows, so does your compensation and your scope. We're transparent about where we're at: this is a commission structure to start, and we're looking for someone who sees the upside in that — not someone scared by it.
Duties
- Client acquisition — proactively pursue bookings across all service categories: studio sessions, events, corporate retreats, artist residencies, touring artist hosting, and overnight stays
- Brand and event promotion — develop and execute promotional strategies for Ground Up Studios and its annual events, including Art in the Garden, showcases, and community activations
- Relationship development — build and maintain relationships with local musicians, touring artists, corporate clients, film/media producers, and event planners
- Outreach campaigns — manage cold and warm outreach via email, social media, phone, and in-person networking
- Booking and scheduling coordination — manage inquiries, bookings, and follow-ups to keep the calendar full
- Operations support — assist in building systems and processes that allow the studio to scale smoothly
- Social and digital presence — contribute to content strategy and execution across platforms to drive visibility and inbound interest
Experience
- Self-starter who doesn't need to be managed — you identify what needs to happen and you make it happen
- Genuine passion for the music and creative industry — you understand the culture and can speak authentically to artists, venues, and creatives
- Strong communicator — written, verbal, and interpersonal — across corporate and creative contexts alike
- Sales-minded with a relationship-first approach — you know how to close without being pushy
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited about building from scratch
- Organized, reliable, and capable of managing multiple moving pieces simultaneously
- Saskatchewan-based or willing to be — presence matters for this role
Compensation
Phase 1 — Launch - Commission-Based
Competitive commission on all bookings and client revenue you bring in. The more you build, the more you earn. Transparent, uncapped, and tied directly to results.
Phase 2 — Growth - Fixed Salary + Commission
As the business establishes steady revenue flow, your compensation transitions to a fixed base salary with performance bonuses. Your groundwork earns you that stability.
Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Store discount
