Security Guard (Multi-Site Coverage)
Position Summary:
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors by monitoring premises, preventing incidents, and responding to emergencies. This role ensures the protection of property and assets through regular patrols, surveillance, and enforcement of site policies and procedures. The Security Guard acts as a visible deterrent to unauthorized activity while providing professional customer service and prompt incident response.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct foot patrols and monitor premises to maintain safety and security
- Enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and medical situations (First Aid/CPR/AED)
- Monitor CCTV systems and identify/report suspicious activity
- De-escalate conflicts and manage trespassers or unauthorized individuals
- Investigate incidents and complete accurate reports and documentation
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, tenants, and visitors
- Collaborate with emergency services and support daily operations
- Provide professional customer service using tact and diplomacy
Required Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Security Services Licence (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract (company vehicle operation required).
- Strong English communication skills (verbal + written reports).
- Comfortable working independently, nights/weekends, and across multiple sites per shift.
- Ability to use mobile apps/technology for reporting and checkpoint verification.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year security experience in mobile patrol, retail/commercial, or alarm response is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Experience with report writing platforms and GPS-enabled patrol workflows.
