Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Assistant Director to oversee daily operations within our early childhood education center. This leadership role involves supporting classroom activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and assisting with staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, especially those with diverse needs, and possess strong organizational and caregiving skills to promote high-quality early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing classroom activities to ensure they are engaging, educational, and developmentally appropriate
- Support teachers and staff in implementing curriculum plans and behavioral strategies
- Supervise daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and indoor/outdoor play
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a secure environment for children and staff
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress and address individual needs
- Assist in staff training, mentoring new team members, and fostering a positive team environment
- Help coordinate special events, parent meetings, and community engagement activities
- Maintain accurate documentation related to children's development, attendance, and incident reports
Skills
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or related settings
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong teaching abilities with knowledge of age-appropriate instructional strategies
- Excellent caregiving skills with patience, compassion, and attentiveness
- Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Leadership qualities to support staff development and team collaboration
- Good communication skills for engaging with families, staff, and community partners
- Organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
