The Inside (Counter) Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge to customers in a Landscape and Masonry retail operation. This role involves assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, promoting products, and ensuring a seamless in-store experience. Additionally, the representative works closely with the sales and inventory teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate products based on their needs.
- Provide detailed product knowledge, including features, benefits, and applications.
- Process customer orders, including in-person and phone orders.
- Address customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary to ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory teams to ensure product availability.
- Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Assist in merchandising and promotional activities to boost sales.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the sales team to identify and pursue opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Communicate with suppliers or warehouse teams regarding special orders or backordered items.
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer trends, inventory needs, and sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, quotes, and customer details.
- Prepare daily reports on sales activities and customer interactions.
- Other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (GED) is the minimum acceptable level of base education.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years in a retail or customer service role, preferably in the construction or landscaping industry.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management software is an asset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Experience:
- Strong product knowledge of landscape and masonry materials.
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
