Job Summary:
The Offset Feeder efficiently prepares the press. Assists in the make ready of the press and complete work as planned on the daily production schedule.
Major Responsibilities:
- Load paper into the press
- Assist in the startup and operation of the press to include
- Setup feeder
- Bend and hang plates
- Apply inks to fountains
- Examine press sheets on the fly for normal and special variation
- Stack or palletize delivered sheets to assure against offsetting or other damage
- Clean up the press
- Perform preventive maintenance including lubrication, roller inspection and deglazing, new blanket preparation, clean water tanks and make roller changes
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating offset printing presses or similar manufacturing equipment
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with material handling is a plus
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
