Role Overview
BoomerangFX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including full-cycle accounting and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). You will play a key role in guiding our financial strategy and ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Please note that this is a 5 days/week In-Office position, based in our office in Mississauga, ON.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the company's financial performance and trends.
- Conduct financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and expenses.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize financial processes.
Must-Haves
- STRONG EXCEL SKILLS- VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, OVERALL FINANCIAL PLANNING.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation preferred
- Proven experience in a financial role, with a strong background in full-cycle accounting and FP&A.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
