Overview
We are seeking a skilled, safety-oriented Journeyman Welder for a dual-environment role splitting time between our local Grande Prairie shop and various field sites. This position requires exceptional by-hand welding manual dexterity with no automation. You will execute high-quality manual welds on structural components, adaptive custom fabrications, and rig equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual Welding: Perform precise by-hand SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Dual-Environment Adaptability: Transition smoothly between controlled shop fabrication and dynamic, fast-paced field site installations.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret structural blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings independently.
- Quality Control: Maintain full puddle control to meet strict CWB standards and prevent defects on all custom components.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all shop and field safety regulations, including hazard assessments and tool inspections.
Qualifications & Tickets
- Trade Certification: Valid Journeyman Welder Ticket (Alberta recognized or Interprovincial Red Seal).
- CWB Qualifications: Current CWB structural credentials (SMAW/FCAW flat/vertical/overhead classifications).
- Safety Tickets: Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO), H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of manual welding experience across both shop fabrication and field service settings.
Requirements: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in variable weather.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
