Master Pools Alta Ltd. is a construction contractor specializing in commercial and municipal swimming pool facilities. Our focus is a professional approach to construction and renovation of pool mechanical systems. We strive to provide the timely, knowledgeable, and well-coordinated installation and commissioning of water circulation, filtration, and chemical treatment systems. We attempt to provide our extensive experience in aquatics to other trades involved in pool construction, in the interest of a ‘team’ approach and the best finished product possible. Our goal is to act as a ‘team partner’ and to provide high-quality equipment, systems, and advice to the commercial aquatics market.
The Project Foreman will have direct responsibility for the on-site planning and execution of individual projects. However, the foreman will assist in piping and equipment installation, in a “working foreman” capacity where possible. The supervisory function comprises three general areas of activity:
Project Administration
· Maintain up to date on- site project documentation, including site instructions and change orders, and shop drawings, using computer and email transmission resources as needed.
· Track project information in an organized manner using MS office applications.
· Foresee jobsite and material and equipment requirements in conjunction with Project Manager and Project Coordinator and site personnel.
· Submit regular reports to Project and Construction Manager as needed.
· Identify, discuss, and resolve incomplete or improper system design for field workers in conjunction with Commissioning and Technical Relations Manager.
· Examine project designs for conformance with applicable codes and good mechanical practice.
· Interpret provincial workplace OH&S standards.
· Interpret company employment policy.
Success in this area of responsibility will result in effective communication between office and jobsite personnel. It will also maintain information in a timely, efficient, and organized manner to meet project schedules and internal deadlines.
Project Team Management
· Participate in implementing project schedules and critical path with General Contractors and related sub-trades.
· Project a clear vision for the execution of a project to General Contractor personnel.
· Demonstrate technical expertise and project credibility in commercial mechanical construction when coordinating construction on site.
· Emphasize a collaborative, solution-focused approach to conflict management, and apply different approaches as required by the situation.
· Support field personnel in case of on-site coordination disagreements.
Success in this area of responsibility will result in the efficient and cost-effective resolution of conflicts on site and will minimize project time and effort spent on personality conflicts.
Management of Field Personnel
· Provide a clear vision for the execution of the project, in term of construction documents, project timelines, and methods of construction, to field personnel.
· Lead the installation of piping and equipment in circumstances where expertise and leadership is required. Monitor and provide quality control. Provide feedback to Project Manager in a timely manner as needed.
· Ensure adherence and use of company OH&S policy by field personnel. Oversee establishment of safe work procedures for site-specific conditions.
· Evaluate field personnel in conjunction with Construction Manager and Project Manager.
· Set example for jobsite discipline and behavior.
Success in this area of responsibility will produce field personnel teams that work in a ‘goal oriented’ manner in a positive atmosphere. The Project Foreman must be prepared to ‘lead by example’ in performance and behavior and maintain the trust and motivation of field personnel.
