Mechanical Assembler / Millwright – Custom Machinery
Location: Richmond, BC
Pay: $28.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary with Strong Potential for Permanent Employment
We are looking for a Millwright or experienced Mechanical Assembler to build custom industrial machinery for a leading manufacturer in Richmond.
Important: This is a machine-building/assembly role — NOT primarily a maintenance or repair position.
We need someone who enjoys building machinery from the ground up, working from drawings, fitting and aligning components, and assembling complete mechanical systems.
What You'll Do
- Assemble custom machinery, equipment, and mechanical sub-assemblies
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings
- Install, fit, align, and adjust mechanical components
- Work with bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems
- Use hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during assembly
- Work closely with engineering and production teams
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Millwright, Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or similar
- Hands-on experience building and assembling industrial machinery
- Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and BOMs
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical fitting/alignment skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Millwright certification or mechanical trade background is an asset
- Experience with custom machinery, automation, conveyors, or industrial equipment is an asset
