Position Summary
We are seeking a General Labourer for a summer student position based in Port Perry. This role is ideal for a student who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in gaining experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, and mechanical support.
This is a seasonal summer position, with the possibility of continuing part-time during the school year based on performance, availability, and company needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely under supervision.
- Assist with manufacturing tasks related to exhaust and ventilation systems.
- Support mechanical assembly and general shop work.
- Help keep the shop, warehouse, and work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and preparing items for jobs.
- Support warehouse-related tasks as required.
- Assist with basic maintenance activities on-site and off-site when needed.
- Follow safety procedures and workplace instructions at all times.
- Work with team members to help complete tasks and meet project timelines.
- Perform other general labour duties as required.
Qualifications
- Student currently enrolled in high school, college, university, or a skilled trades-related program is preferred.
- Interest in mechanical work, manufacturing, trades, or hands-on learning.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is an asset.
- Previous shop, warehouse, construction, or labour experience is an asset, but not required.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Physically able to perform manual labour, including lifting, standing, bending, and working with tools.
- Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
