We are looking for passionate, self-driven new graduates who are excited to begin their career in Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital transformation. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy experimenting with new technologies, building creative solutions, solving business problems with AI, and continuously learning.
The successful candidate will work with experienced engineers, architects, delivery leads, and business teams to design, build, test, and support AI-enabled solutions. This may include working on generative AI use cases, automation accelerators, intelligent agents, data-driven insights, prompt engineering, and integration of AI capabilities into enterprise applications. CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000-$80,000. This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI-enabled solutions and prototypes.
- Build and experiment with AI/ML models, generative AI solutions, chatbots, intelligent agents, and automation accelerators.
- Assist in developing proof of concepts that solve real business problems using AI, data, and automation.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to support model development, analysis, and solution validation.
- Support prompt engineering, model evaluation, response testing, and output quality validation.
- Collaborate with developers, quality engineers, business analysts, product owners, and architects to understand business needs and convert them into AI-enabled solutions.
- Contribute to integration of AI capabilities into applications, workflows, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Support documentation of solution design, assumptions, test results, risks, limitations, and operational considerations.
- Learn and apply responsible AI practices including privacy, security, bias awareness, explainability, and human-in-the-loop validation.
- Explore opportunities to improve delivery efficiency through AI, reusable components, automation, and accelerators.
- Bring fresh thinking, curiosity, creativity, and ownership to identify new ways AI can improve engineering, testing, delivery, and client outcomes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Recent graduate from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related program.
- Academic, internship, co-op, hackathon, research, personal project, or self-learning experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or automation.
- Exposure to Python and common AI/ML libraries or frameworks.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, data preprocessing, model training, model evaluation, and experimentation.
- Exposure to generative AI concepts, large language models, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation would be an asset.
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and application integration concepts.
- Familiarity with Git, notebooks, development tools, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Demonstrated passion for AI and technology through creative projects, prototypes, automation ideas, AI experiments, hackathons, research, or self-learning.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work through ambiguity.
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and taking ownership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas in a simple and practical way.
- Interest in financial services, digital banking, quality engineering, cloud, automation, or enterprise application delivery would be an asset.
