The Opportunity
Cambridge LLP is seeking a versatile, organized, and dependable Legal Assistant to join our Toronto office located in an historical brick and beam loft within the city’s vibrant Entertainment District.
This is a full-time, permanent position supporting a range of partners and litigation associates. The role combines legal administrative support, general office assistance, client service, and support for firm events and special projects.
The successful candidate will be comfortable handling both routine administrative tasks and more advanced assignments depending on their experience, abilities, and the needs of the firm. This is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys a varied support role and is willing to help wherever needed.
Responsibilities
· Provide day-to-day administrative support to multiple lawyers.
· Prepare, proofread, format, scan, save, and organize correspondence and documents.
· Manage emails, calendars, appointments, meeting invitations, and other scheduling requests.
· Assist with docket entry, expense submissions, billing administration, and other routine practice-management tasks.
· Maintain electronic and physical files and ensure documents are properly organized.
· Communicate professionally with clients, lawyers, courts, service providers, and other contacts.
· Arrange couriers, deliveries, printing, copying, binding, and document packages.
· Assist with the preparation of routine letters, forms, and non-legal correspondence.
· Assist with assembling, serving and filing court documents.
· Provide reception, telephone, meeting-room, and general office support when required.
· Assist with firm wine-and-cheese receptions, seminars, and other events, including guest lists, name badges, materials, setup, and teardown.
· Support special projects and assist with other administrative or legal-support tasks according to experience and operational needs.
· Where appropriate, assist with more advanced document preparation or litigation-support work under the supervision of a lawyer.
Qualifications
· At least two years of administrative, legal assistant, or professional office experience.
· Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is preferred.
· Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
· Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
· Ability to manage changing priorities and support several people.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
· Comfortable performing a mix of routine office duties and higher-level support work.
· Reliable, cooperative, discreet, and willing to contribute as part of a team.
· Experience with legal billing, docketing, or practice-management software is an asset but not required.
· Experience with court filing procedures, including but not limited to, confirmation of motions, use of calendly to book hearings and navigating online filing portals.

· Salary commensurate with experience, up to $60,000 per year.
