Job Title: Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) [1]Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled, Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) to join our maintenance and engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex industrial electrical systems, automated production machinery, and manufacturing equipment. This role requires rapid diagnostic skills to minimize plant downtime while maintaining strict adherence to safety and industrial electrical codes [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery, PLC systems, CNC equipment, and robotics.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, generators, transformers, and power distribution systems.
- Automation: Read, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Installation: Lay out, assemble, install, and test industrial electrical apparatus, control panels, switches, and switchboards.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, CSA Z462 workplace electrical safety standards, and OHSA regulations.
- Documentation: Read complex industrial blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams, updating electrical documentation as modifications occur. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid Ontario 442A Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (Journeyperson status).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working as a maintenance electrician within a fast-paced steel manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatic control systems.
- Tools: High proficiency using digital multimeters, megohmmeters, and specialized industrial diagnostic tools.
- Shifts: Flexibility to work continental, rotating, or night shifts as required by production schedules. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
