Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Experience with electronic medical records and dental management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle inquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Verify insurance information and process billing or payments accordingly
- Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
- Prepare and update patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth daily operations at the front desk
- Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting
- Proficiency with dental management software such as Dentrix and Epic; familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently and handle high-volume call traffic
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- Prior experience working with insurance verification, billing, or coding is a plus
