Kandrea Insulation & Scaffolding is looking to recruit multiple ambitious Industrial Insulators (Journeymen/women) for a project near Long Lake
Shifts, Rotations, Camp, TOA, and LOA vary depending on the location or site.
We are looking for camp-based positions, each with opportunities for overtime and career advancement. With a variety of projects available, we're confident there's one that's the perfect fit for you.
Candidates must possess CSTS2020, WHMIS 2015, Fall Protection, and H2S Alive, and be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol/Mask Fit test.
Position Summary
Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, cellular glass, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., ducting, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Uses coaching skills for mentoring and training apprentices.
- Describes the materials used and identifies areas where fireproofing and fire stopping are used in a building system.
- Recognizes the various applications and identify materials used in various spray applications.
- Understands, identifies and describes the components and materials used in an Industrial system.
- Defines terms, identifies applications, outlines layout process, fabricates and installs of pan-out and cut outs, concentric reducer, eccentric reducer, square to round transition, square to square transition, spherical or elliptical head, gored butterfly elbow and lateral fitting without supervision.
- Identifies the terms and applications for pre-insulated panels.
- Identifies the applications for removable soft covers.
- Outlines the layout process, fabricates, and installs removable box coverings on piping and equipment without supervision.
- Interprets mechanical drawings to describe processes, identifies their divisions and components related to specifications and addendums related to an industrial system
- Identifies, defines and applies information found on ISO and P&ID drawings for the application of insulating materials without supervision.
- Utilizes Mineral Wool and Pyrogel insulation material.
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
- Select, use, and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership in housekeeping, PPE use, and emergency procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture by looking out for yourself and your team
Education & Experience
- 5500 or more hours or Journeyman Certificate in an industrial trade role.
- Experience working with insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, foam, mineral wool).
- Experience working with static equipment such as vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems an asset.
- Strong experience with using Mineral Wool and Pyrogel insulation material.
- Familiarity with site safety practices and procedures.
- Safety tickets including (but not limited to): CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, Fall Protection, and H2S Alive.

- Required use of specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, coveralls, gloves, and safety glasses.
- Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) safely and effectively.
Own Tools/Equipment
- Own basic hand tools related to the trade.
- Must have CSA-approved steel toed boots.
- Additional PPE may be provided, but workers are expected to maintain their tools and equipment in good working condition.
