Position Overview
Reporting to the Project Manager or Offshore Supervisor, the successful candidate will perform non-destructive testing and inspection activities in support of offshore asset integrity programs. The role involves evaluating the integrity of pressure equipment, piping, structural components, and associated assets while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes, client requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing and inspection activities in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct inspections of pressure equipment, piping, structural components, and associated offshore assets.
- Perform equipment setup, calibration, verification, and functional checks to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
- Accurately assess inspection results and identify defects, damage mechanisms, or anomalies requiring further evaluation.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely inspection reports and supporting documentation.
- Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to supervisors, engineers, and client representatives.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration records remain current.
- Promote a strong safety culture while complying with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report safety, quality, or procedural concerns.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, technical integrity, and ethical conduct.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- ISO 9712 certification (CGSB, PCN, or equivalent).
- MT Level II.
- PT Level II.
- CWB Level I or II.
- API 510 and/or API 570 certification.
- UT Level II and/or RT Level II with CEDO certification.
- IRATA Level I or higher, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in an offshore industrial environment.
- Completion of a recognized two-year technical program or equivalent industry experience.
- Working knowledge of applicable inspection codes, standards, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication, technical report writing, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Equivalent combinations of technical qualifications, certifications, and relevant offshore inspection experience will be considered.
Assignment Details
- Ad hoc offshore opportunities supporting inspection and integrity projects in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Assignments will be offered based on operational requirements.
- Offshore assignments will typically involve deployments of up to 21 days, working 12-hour day or night shifts, depending on operational and client requirements.
- Rotation schedules, assignment durations, and work locations will vary depending on operational and client requirements.
- Candidates must be available to travel offshore as required and maintain all required offshore medical, training, and readiness certifications.
- Qualified candidates may be considered for future offshore opportunities as operational requirements evolve.
