OPT Studio is a creative and digital solutions company based in Toronto. We build websites that are visually engaging, functional, and search-engine optimized. We are looking for a motivated Entry-Level WordPress Website Developer & Visual Designer who has a strong understanding of SEO, excellent visual design skills, and is comfortable working in both Chinese and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain websites using WordPress
- Create visually appealing page layouts and graphics using Figma (focus on visual branding)
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and on-page SEO optimization
- Use SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
- Optimize website performance, structure, and content for higher search rankings
- Ensure websites are responsive and cross-browser compatible
- Collaborate with the team on design direction and brand consistency
Requirements
- Fluent in Chinese and English
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent training/experience
- Proficient in WordPress site building and customization (Elementor)
- Skilled in Figma for visual design (branding, layout, style)
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and how search engines work
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as SEMrush or Ahrefs
- Good aesthetic judgment and attention to detail
- Eager to learn and able to take initiative
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Graphic design experience for marketing materials (posters, social media graphics)
- Website speed optimization experience
- Understanding of digital marketing campaigns
