The elevator operator will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining the construction elevator that transports personnel, materials, and equipment between various levels of the site. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
1. Elevator Operations
- Operate the construction elevator safely and efficiently, adhering to all site safety regulations and operational guidelines.
- Transport workers, tools, and materials to designated floors or areas promptly.
- Ensure that the elevator is used within its load capacity and report any violations immediately.
2. Safety Compliance
- Conduct pre-operation checks of the elevator to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Monitor elevator operations to prevent accidents, ensuring proper boarding and disembarking of personnel and materials.
- Enforce site safety protocols, such as the use of safety harnesses and helmets during elevator usage.
- Report any malfunctions, damages, or unsafe conditions to the site supervisor or maintenance team promptly.
3. Communication
- Maintain clear and professional communication with site personnel to coordinate elevator usage effectively.
- Provide updates to supervisors regarding elevator availability, maintenance issues, or delays.
4. Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of the elevator cab and equipment to ensure a safe and operational environment.
- Notify the maintenance team of the need for repairs or routine servicing.
- Keep the elevator area free of debris and obstacles to prevent hazards.
5. Record-Keeping
- Maintain a daily log of elevator operations, including details on loads, personnel transported, and any incidents.
- Record and report all maintenance checks and irregularities.
6. Emergency Response
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and protocols, including how to respond to elevator malfunctions or power outages.
- Assist in evacuating personnel from the elevator in case of emergencies, following safety guidelines.
7. Additional Duties
- Assist with other site operations when required, provided they do not interfere with primary responsibilities.
- Participate in safety training sessions and toolbox talks to stay updated on site policies and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience operating construction elevators or similar machinery is required (minimum 2 years)
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads if needed.
- Hoist Operator / Elevator ticket.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

* Fri–Sun (Morning): 7am to 7pm
Or
* Fri–Sun (Night): 7pm to 7am
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36.0 per week
