Job Overview:
At Excel Repair, we work on a variety of equipment, everything from automobiles, and pickups to heavy equipment such as yellow iron and heavy trucks and trailers.
We are seeking a self-motivated 2nd, 3rd, 4th year Heavy-Duty Mechanic Apprentice or Journeyman to join our team. As a mechanic, you will be responsible for assisting with CVIPs and diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently. You must have your own basic tools. We expect professionalism, proficiency, efficiency, and cleanliness.
Duties:
Assist with CVIPs on trucks and trailers
Perform maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
Confirm findings and discuss work with supervisor
Adjust, repair, or replace faulty parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Conduct electrical repairs and installations as needed
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed
Assist with equipment installations and modifications as required
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times

- Capable of performing heavy lifting (75 lbs) and physical tasks as required
- Standing for extended periods
- Current, clean Class 5 driver's abstract
Education: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year Heavy-Duty Mechanic Apprentice or Journeyman
