Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Lead to oversee daily maintenance activities across multiple residential sites. This role provides leadership to maintenance technicians, facilitates training, monitors workflow completion, and serves as the communication link between field staff and management. The Maintenance Lead plays a key role in ensuring maintenance standards, safety protocols, and operational efficiency are upheld across all properties.
Duties
Leadership & Staff Support
- Check in daily with maintenance technicians across all sites to ensure productivity and quality of work
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support as needed
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new hires
Meetings & Communication
- Lead daily or weekly maintenance huddles, safety meetings, and toolbox talks
- Relay operational concerns, staffing issues, and site observations to the Operations Maintenance Manager
- Ensure technicians are informed of new procedures, standards, and company expectations
Operational Support
- Assist with scheduling, prioritizing, and monitoring work orders
- Fill in on maintenance tasks when teams are short-staffed or workload is high
- Support technicians with troubleshooting building systems and complex work orders
Inventory & Documentation
- Help maintain inventory levels for tools, parts, and supplies
- Verify completion and accuracy of PM logs, safety forms, and operational checklists
- Ensure technicians document work thoroughly and correctly
Building Oversight
- Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure building standards are met
- Monitor completion of PMs, tenant requests, and safety tasks
- Identify operational issues early and communicate solutions to management
Skills
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Mechanical knowledge with expertise in electrical systems, HVAC, low voltage wiring, and schematics
- Comfortable using software for work order management and maintenance scheduling
- Solid understanding of building maintenance practices and safety protocols
- Effective communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $62,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Residential building maintenance: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
- Power Engineering Certificate (preferred)
