We are looking for an experienced Confectioner / Sweet Maker who can prepare traditional Pakistani and Indian sweets, desserts, and snacks with consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience making items such as jalebi, barfi, rasgulla, gulab jamun, pakora, samosa, chana chaat, and other South Asian bakery, sweet, and snack items.
This role is suitable for someone who understands traditional recipes, hygiene standards, preparation timing, bulk production, and customer-quality presentation.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare Pakistani and Indian sweets, snacks, and chaat items
- Make fresh jalebi, pakora, samosa, barfi, rasgulla, gulab jamun, chana chaat, and similar items
- Prepare doughs, batters, syrups, fillings, and mixtures according to standard recipes
- Maintain consistent taste, texture, size, and presentation
- Handle frying, boiling, shaping, mixing, and finishing of sweets and snacks
- Prepare items for daily sale, catering orders, and bulk production
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and preparation area
- Follow food safety standards and proper storage procedures
- Manage ingredients carefully and reduce wastage
- Assist with new menu items and seasonal sweet production
- Work with the kitchen/team manager to meet daily production targets
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a sweet maker, halwai, confectioner, or South Asian snack maker
- Strong experience with Pakistani/Indian sweets and snacks
- Ability to make jalebi, samosa, pakora, gulab jamun, barfi, rasgulla, and chaat items
- Knowledge of sugar syrup consistency, frying temperature, dough preparation, and traditional recipes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good hygiene, cleanliness, and food-handling habits
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to prepare items in both small and bulk quantities
- Team player with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Pakistani, Indian, or South Asian restaurant, sweet shop, bakery, or catering business
- Knowledge of additional items such as laddoo, kheer, ras malai, halwa, nimko, spring rolls, or other traditional snacks is an asset
- Food Handler Certificate is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to follow standard recipes and maintain consistent quality
Pay: $17.20-$26.11 per hour
