The JHS Sarnia Lambton is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing a broad range of evidence-based and outcome-driven community services in Sarnia-Lambton. Our organization has a strong history of helping individuals and families who are at risk of, or who have come into conflict with the law. Our work includes the provision of prevention and intervention services as well as advocacy, public education, and community partnerships. Our diverse client group includes youth and adults, males and females, from a wide cross section of social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds represented in our community.
Summary
We are seeking for a Caseworker to join our team at the JHS Sarnia Lambton. Expected work 35 hours a week.
The function of the Caseworker is to support clients in Housing and fee for service programs.
The Caseworker positions report to the Programs Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to clients navigating social services and community resources.
- Develop individualized case plans based on client needs and goals.
- Monitor client progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
- Advocate for clients within the community and connect them with appropriate services.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress.
- Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
- University degree centering on study of the humanities (social work, sociology, criminology, psychology, etc.) preferred;
- Minimum college level diploma in Social Service Work, Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions, or equivalent experience;
- Three or more years experience in the social services preferred;
- Knowledge of the functioning of the criminal justice system and Residential Tenancy Act;
- Superior interpersonal skills;
- Superior verbal and written skills;
- Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle required;
- French language proficiency is considered an asset.
