Job Description
The Works is seeking reliable and motivated Facility Attendants to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors. This position involves cleaning duties and general maintenance responsibilities with both the Aquarena and the Field House.
Facility Attendants work a rotating shift schedule that includes evenings, weekends, overnights/midnight shifts and weekdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of cleaning and general maintenance duties throughout the facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness in changerooms, washrooms, fitness areas, courts, pool areas, and common spaces.
- Complete routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing and garbage removal.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues.
- Ensure all areas remain safe, clean, and well organized at all times.
- Assist with outdoor duties including parking lot maintenance, grounds upkeep and snow clearing as needed.
- Participate in all required training sessions and staff orientations.
Education & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with solid time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or within a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and cleaning best practices.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment safely.
- Clear Code of Conduct (Criminal Record Check) and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Additional Experience:
- Commercial cleaning or janitorial experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in cleaning and maintenance roles, preferably within recreation or commercial facilities.
- Customer service experience with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with Patrons and staff.
