Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, customer service, and cash handling within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to company standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Assist with food preparation, including assembling ingredients for beverages and light food items
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations throughout shifts
Skills
- Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple orders efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform serving, food preparation, and food service tasks with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively
