Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role requires a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Warehouse Associate will play a vital role in ensuring efficient distribution processes and maintaining safety standards across all activities.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments and maintaining inventory records using warehouse management systems like AS400
- Load and unload goods safely while adhering to safety protocols and heavy lifting guidelines
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock locations and maintaining clean work areas
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance
- Support warehouse management system operations for inventory tracking and order fulfillment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and ensure smooth workflow across all departments
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers preferred
- Proficiency with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or construction is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems like AS400 or similar platforms
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly throughout shifts
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order picking and shipping/receiving tasks
- Experience with warehouse safety protocols and procedures for heavy equipment operation
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, or warehouse management is highly desirable
