We have a great opportunity to hire an experienced, detail-oriented full-time Law Clerk to join a Litigation practice that services a wide range of clients in areas including labour relations, civil litigation, estate litigation, and more.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Management of matters from open to close: intake, retainers, directions;
- Communicating with clients, court staff, and other third parties by phone and email;
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence;
- Reviewing drafted reports and decisions, verifying references;
- Preparing and electronic filing of various court materials using DMS (iManage experience is an asset) and Primafact;
- Performing administrative duties: calendaring, bring forward management, tracking invoices;
- Understand and apply knowledge of The Rules of Civil Procedure
Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the firm.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess 3-5 years' experience as a legal assistant/law clerk working in litigation. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong eye for detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to interact with professionalism and diplomacy.
Salary is commensurate with skill level and years of experience.
