Locally owned and operated, Schooner Transport is in the business of transporting various petroleum-based products (asphalt, ethanol, gas, jet fuel, diesel, etc.) to & from various refineries, terminals, bulk plants, air ports & gas stations throughout eastern Ontario & western Québec.
Due to rapid expansion, our organization is again looking for professional AZ licensed truck drivers with a "can-do / lets get it done" attitude who thrive in a team environment and are able to operate both manual and automatic transmission highway tractors pulling quads &/or b-trains (primary equipment).
Full-time permanent positions:
Ethanol, Jet Fuel, Gasoline / Diesel Haulage:
Shifts currently available:
- 5 days / week, morning or afternoon shift: includes working Saturday & Sunday, plus any three additional weekdays (i.e. Wed. thru Sunday, Thurs. thru Monday, etc.)
- 3 or 4 days / week: "Weekend Only" i.e. Friday thru Sunday (day &/or evening shift)
- 5 days / wk: "Evening Shift". Typically starting between 7 & 10 pm. May include working a Saturday or a Sunday (to be discussed with dispatcher)
- OTR shift. Drivers sleep in their tractor, typically handling longer-range runs, usually working in the evenings (less traffic). However actual daily schedule can be discussed with dispatcher.
IMPORTANT: - Training people to properly & safely operate & maintain a tractor-trailer hauling petroleum products is an expensive proposition. This includes the time & effort in training drivers to eventually be "carded" to load & offload at the various refineries, terminals, bulk-plants, etc.
Therefore candidates - if hired - agree to work for Schooner Transport a minimum of eighteen (18) months from the date of hiring.
