This position is only casual/part-time and commission based.
Duties
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, colour, blowouts, and treatments tailored to client preferences
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable styles or products
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas and tools in accordance with health regulations
- Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client experience and salon revenue
- Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and processing payments
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a friendly, professional atmosphere and addressing client needs promptly
- Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and product knowledge through ongoing education
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Hair Stylist or Cosmetologist with a valid license or certification as required by provincial regulations
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients
- Expertise in hair styling techniques including cutting, colouring, styling, and chemical treatments
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures within a salon environment
- Ability to upsell products and promote retail sales confidently
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members
- Previous experience managing front desk duties is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific responsibilities
- A passion for hairstyling, creativity, and continuous learning to stay current with industry trends
