Paramount Family Centre is a welcoming, well-established childcare centre that has been serving the Upper Stoney Creek community for over 25 years. We offer toddler, preschool, kindergarten, and school-age care, as well as summer camp programming. Paramount Family Centre is also a participant in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system and values our strong, collaborative relationships with our local community partners and families.
Position Summary
The Director provides overall leadership and management of the Centre, ensuring daily operations, programs, and services align with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. The role ensures full compliance with all Ontario childcare legislation and fosters a positive, professional environment for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and high-quality childcare environment
- Provide effective staff recruitment, leadership, mentoring, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, legislative, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee program development using play-based, child-centred approaches
- Lead policy development for approval of the Board of Directors
- Manage financial planning, budgets, reporting, and funding requirements
- Build trusting relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders
- Promote a culture of inclusion, professionalism, and continuous improvement

- Demonstrates a passion for providing outstanding customer service and building relationships with parents and staff
- Has a solid understanding of childcare legislation, licensing, early learning frameworks, and program development
- Demonstrates leadership and sound decision-making, managing time and priorities effectively
- Applies financial and computer skills to support operations
- Communicates clearly, works independently, and stays organized
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Current Infant/Child First Aid and CPR certification
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience
