Prospect is looking to add a GIS Mapping Technician to our team to support our ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate would have a strong ARCGIS background, including FieldMaps and some familiarity with AutoCAD. Experience in developing custom templates and managing data for use in both CAD and GIS is valuable. The mapping deliverables are predominantly environmental and archaeological assessment maps, as well as Consultation and Notification mapping. The following are some of the responsibilities for the role of Mapping Technician:
- Source public data sets
- Update and manage data
- Format data for use in templates
- Develop and improve templates
- Work with electromagnetic survey data, Lidar data, Field Maps, Avenza, etc.
- Import and format georeferenced imagery
- Export various formats from mapping data (excel, PDFs, imagery, etc.)
- Identify additional programs to support the mapping department
- Utilize field data collected from the field to create maps and other deliverables
A successful candidate will possess a combination of the following skills and qualifications:
- Geographic Information Systems Degree or Diploma
- Experience managing large data sets
- Ability to develop new templates, systems and processes
- Ability to implement the use of apps to support the field stat collection and mapping deliverables
