Registered Practical Nurse
Temporary Full-time Days - 7:00am-3:00pm
Reports to the Director of Care & Assistant Director of Care
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Core Function: To work with the DOC and ADOC to provide supervision and leadership to the staff in the nursing department.
To assume responsibility for all aspects of the unit activities, as delegated by the DOC and ADOC. Responsible for the care of the Residents in the assigned unit of the LTC facility and supervises the care given by the PSWs.
The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, combined with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills while demonstrating the ability to oversee the operation of nursing services, under the direction of the Director of Care and the Assistant Director of Care.
The successful applicant must possess a demonstrated ability in core competencies including excellent coaching and mentoring skills, conflict resolution, quality management and excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience within a long-term care facility
- Experience within an unionized environment an asset
- Registration with the CNO as a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
- Passion for enriching lives everyday
- Experience with Point Click Care Software and MDS-RAI an asset
- A valid Vulnerable Sector Check for Employment completed by your local Police Department - No older than 6 months
- Two-step TB test or chest x-ray - No older than 6 months *this has to be fill out within 14 days of hire*
