Position Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. This role ensures excellent customer service, efficient staff performance, compliance with health and safety standards, and achievement of sales and operational goals. The Assistant Manager helps supervise staff, manage inventory, and maintain high standards of food quality and service.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the restaurant.
- Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Monitor food quality, service standards, and cleanliness.
- Help implement company policies and procedures.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise restaurant staff including servers, cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and shift assignments.
- Train new employees on service standards and workplace procedures.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members.
Customer Service
- Ensure guests receive excellent service and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Monitor dining area and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handle complaints and provide solutions professionally.
Inventory and Supplies
- Assist with ordering food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely deliveries.
Financial and Administrative Duties
- Assist in monitoring sales, labour costs, and operating expenses.
- Support cash handling, daily sales reporting, and deposit preparation.
- Help achieve restaurant revenue and profitability targets.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain workplace safety standards.
- Ensure staff follow proper food handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or food service management.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and scheduling systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience.
- Food safety certification.
- Experience with POS systems and restaurant management software.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods.
