Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium Ltd is a family-owned full service funeral home with an on-site crematorium in Oliver, BC. We are located in the heart of Wine Country in the beautiful south end of the Okanagan Valley. We have an opening for a full time licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer or Funeral Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shares and performs on-call responsibilities including: taking first calls and transfers
- Supervises and cares for the deceased in a respectful manner; ensuring identification of deceased; obtaining authorization for embalming, cremation, visitations
- Arranging and conducting funeral, memorial services and visitations
- Explain and execute funeral contracts, legal documents in accordance with company policies and the laws of British Columbia
- Arranging for the interment or cremation of human remains according to the laws of British Columbia
- Ensures adherence to all applicable professional, and provincial licensing authority, regulations and maintains education requirements required for provincial licensing
- Performing necessary paperwork checks and balances in regards to operating the crematorium, processing the cremated remains and placing in the appropriate urn
- EMBALMER RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable)
- Ensuring embalming authorization has been obtained; embalming
- Maintenance of preparation room, the funeral home and crematorium
- Cleaning of soiled equipment and hazardous material spills in accordance to MSDS
- Ensuring embalming chemical, disinfecting chemicals and supply inventory are maintained and ordering supplies if needed
- Loading and unloading caskets and other funeral home supplies
- Promote a safe work environment by practicing universal precautions
- Adhere to all applicable professional, provincial licensing authority regulations and maintains education requirements required for provincial licensing
- Experience
- Open to all levels of experience
Certification/Licenses
- Must meet all licensing requirements in province as required by law
· Valid current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
