Bekar & Sons Contracting Ltd. is a growing retail and contracting business committed to maintaining strong financial controls and operational excellence. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Maple Ridge, BC.
Job Duties
- Maintain complete financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and process payroll and related remittances.
- Maintain general ledger and financial records.
- Prepare GST, PST, and other statutory filings.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare financial reports and management information for decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities.
- Maintain accounting records using Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support year-end financial statement audit review with external accountants
- Perform other related accounting and bookkeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
