Now Hiring: Refrigeration Maintenance Operator
Location: Vaughan, ON (Onsite – Monday to Friday)
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually (based on experience)
We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Refrigeration Maintenance Operator to join a leading organization in the fresh produce and food distribution industry.
This is a senior technical role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing industrial refrigeration, cooling, and HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient operations while meeting TSSA regulations and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration, cooling, and HVAC systems
Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and controls
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
Monitor system performance and optimize operating efficiency
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Maintain CMMS records, refrigerant logs, and equipment history
Ensure compliance with TSSA, GMP, food safety, and lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications
TSSA Class B Refrigeration Operating Engineer Certification (Required)
Minimum 4th Class Operating Engineer Certification (Required)
ODP Certification (Required)
3–5+ years of experience with industrial refrigeration systems and TSSA regulations
Hands-on experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems (Freon experience is an asset)
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
