Job Summary
100 Plus, a vegetarian restuarant and Juice bar, is looking for a skilled East Indian Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic East Indian dishes that delight our guests and uphold the highest standards of food quality and safety. Your expertise in North and South Indian traditional cooking techniques, food handling, and meal preparation will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience. Duties
- Prepare and cook authentic North and South Indian Vegetarian dishes with precision, ensuring each plate meets quality standards and presentation expectations
- Follow established recipes and adapt traditional methods to maintain authentic flavors
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and professionalism
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations, throughout shifts
- Support the team during busy service hours by managing multiple orders and ensuring timely delivery of meals
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or food service setting, preferably with East Indian cuisine expertise
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry
- Experience with meal preparation, serving, and food presentation techniques specific to East Indian dishes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and sanitation protocols required for safe food handling
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Prior restaurant or food industry experience is highly desirable; formal culinary training is a plus
